Q1: Should the open duration be set on the Access Controller?
A: No.
The actual open duration for the turnstile gate must be configured on the gate mainboard menu, not on the access controller.
Please refer to the Turnstile Gate User Manual for the detailed steps.
Q2: What happens if a long open duration is set on the Access Controller?
If the open duration is set too long on the access controller, the following issues may occur:
- After the gate opens and a visitor passes, the gate may open again unexpectedly
- The gate may perform abnormal open–close actions
Reason:
When the access controller holds the open signal for too long,
the gate mainboard receives a continuous “open command,” causing the system to misinterpret it as multiple open requests.

Q3: What is the recommended open duration setting on the Access Controller?
Recommended value: 1 second.
This ensures the access controller only sends a single open trigger,
while the actual open duration is fully controlled by the gate mainboard, ensuring stable operation.
Q4: Why must the open duration be controlled by the Gate Mainboard?
Because the gate mainboard handles all safety and logic functions, including:
- Detecting whether a visitor has passed
- Identifying tailgating
- Extending open time when needed
- Closing safely based on IR sensors and internal logic
Only the gate mainboard can make these decisions.
The access controller should only provide a trigger signal, not directly control the timing.
